positive and negative space

For this project I had to look at positive and negative spaces.
This was a good project for me as there were lots of different ideas floating around.
As  Slipknot is my favourite band I choose to do the project based around them
I created 8 canvases and 1 mirror.
Instead of the mirror being blank I created a stencil of Corey Taylors face and sandblasted it to the mirror leaving his face outlined faintly so It still could be used as a mirror to look into.
Behind the 8 canveses I created a metal frame to turn this into a wall piece
I spot welded the frame together making tabs to hold the canvases to the frame.
The mirror was then glued to the middle of the frame and I was left with a Distinction for this 3d design project
