J’Adore
This project I choose to dedicate to my younger sibling Alivia Jade Wright.
I love watching her grow and I find her inspiring. She loves puzzles, drawing, painting and taking photos so I can see already that were going to get along later in life as we share a lot of the same interests.
I think children have multiple personalities so I chose to use different mediums to create basic outlines of her face multiple times, some overlapping, some joining and some just one there own.
The basic idea was that I could symbolise her duel personalities by creating layers of faces. I worked with paints inks and ballpoint pens. My plan was to first of all draw the images up before scanning them in to edit. I think the more simple designs are the ones that came out the most effective after being edited. I haven’t used Photoshop much before so the techniques I have used are pretty basic, however all the printed out images have turned out exactly how I wanted them to.
I love how a messy line can be made to look a lot neater once edited. One of my favourite things to do is to have the same image repeated in different colours.
My final piece is going to be based on this Idea.
I think if I was more experienced on Photoshop My images could be great turnouts.
The artist.
For this project I didn’t have much inspiration from other artists. As one of my biggest passions is photography I have used a lot of my own work as inspiration for my drawings. I have been there from beginning to capture pictures of Alicia and she loves to pose for me so it works out well. I have looked at Andy Warhol and other artists that use vibrant colours within there work but Andy Warhol’s pop art and repeated pattern in various colours was the work that maybe inspired me not whilst doing this project but when I was a lot younger as the way I have worked in this project is my style completely.
I have many favourites within my sketchbook that I edited all the ones I like.
I tried to give more of a graphics/modern look to my work and I have actually enjoyed this project
If I were to do this project again I would have done it on both my siblings.
I would have carried on with the layers of faces but I may have used objects they liked such as puzzles within the drawings.
I like the fact within this project I got to do photography swell. If you look on my bog there are many different snap shots and edits of Alivia swell as my edits.
